Has a very comfortable stay for a weekend. Health suite was a welcome addition. Breakfast was outstanding. Lady on reception upon arrival was very nice to deal with and always lovely to be greeted with a happy smiley face.
Went on a festive lunch. Food was reasonable, drinks really overpriced!! The room was claustrophobic (we were packed in like sardines). @ end of food they forgot our table so ended up waiting an extra half hour for our coffee which was dishwater anyway. The guy who came to do bingo was naff. The ABBA girls (old ladies) tribute band were very low end, Overall it was
First impressions very good. Free parking, rooms well appointed and very clean. Great views over the College grounds and rugby pitch from our room. Leisure facilities a bonus with free access and towels provided.
Christmas party meal and stopped overnight .The service wasn't as good as last year.Nor was the food.There was no water /glasses on the tables, when we asked for some , unfortunately we didn't get a smile from the young person waiting our table but more of a look in keeping with " what you want me to get you some?"People who had the fruit starter didn't get theirs until everyone else had finished and our plates were being cleared away. Our friends told us to start .Some vegetables were squashed, the Christmas pudding looked and tasted more like a slice of fruit malt .No coffee was served at the tables to finish off the end of the meal, if you wanted a drink you had to go and collect it All in all a poor show Stopped Saturday night 15.12.2018We stayed in a suite which wasn't the one my husband had expected. We didn't have a fridge in the room We didn't have any water We didn't have any teaspoons to stir the hots drinks with.Breakfast was self service, the coffee wasn't hot.The breakfast was ok. One staff member rolled her eyes when a paying customer asked for a fork .The older lady in a suit however was the total opposite, pleasant polite and friendly. Before we had our breakfast the cleaners were gathering their equipment, unfortunately this was outside our room and the corridor was full of buckets,mops laundry baskets etc . I know that jobs need doing. That night the fire alarms sounded, not the hotels fault, however we were also woken up by the sound of rushing water through the pipes . Not a good night's rest.
Hotel good, room bit small, pool smaller than looks on photos, changing room had very wet floor and small but adequate for a couple of people. No costume spinner but bags provided. Staff suggested couple of places to go which were good.
