Sadly, my feedback is the same as previous clients - Conveyancing team poor communication, not committing to actually doing what they say they will and appalling client service, even from the Conveyancing Partner, Dawn Cherry, lack of attention to detail. I shall not be recommending them or using them in the future.NB. If there were the option to vote this with no stars, I would, I am that disappointed with my experience!
I didnt even want to put 1 star. charged us a lot of money for doing absolutely nothing worst solicitors I have ever delt with .Take my advice these solicitors are the criminals look elsewhere they would charge you to breathe if they could get away with it .They had no idea how to deal with the boundary dispute with our idiot neighbours who have now decided to move anyway .They did absolutely nothing to help just sent the same letter back and forth for months didnt give us any good advice either but charged us thousands .My fence is still in position where it was placed 2 years before the idiot neighbours decided it might be a few inch on their land even though it was erected behind there extension and wall that had been built by the previous owners over 25 years ago and separated the two properties and the current neighbours or previous neighbours never had access to as it was my garden .If you ever receive a letter from your neighbours solicitor demanding you remove 25 fence panels within 14 days and demolish your gym that you have built within 21 days that all cost thousands please dont panic stand your ground tell them prove its on there land before you even spend a penny but what ever you do dont use oxley and coward they are money grabbers be warned .
A professional firm with a family feel that completed my flat purchase on time and to tight timescales over the busy August Holiday period. 6 Weeks flat.Special thanks to Dawn (my Dad's friends said you'd do me a great job and you did), Chloe who covered wonderfully whilst Dawn was on hols and Isabel who was always on hand as needed. Having three points of contact meant everything was dealt with as quickly as possible and I was never left worrying unnecessarily.
Best avoidedHad the misfortune of using Oxley and Coward to sort out money left to myself and my sister in a will. Awkward and rude to deal with, had to fight to get money released from the estate for a funeral. Ample money in estate to cover it. I felt deliberately took time resolving any issues, all while holding the money in Oxley and Coward account (whilst earning interest for them - which we never saw). My mother helped them with numerous question, to save them work and help them - yet where rude and impatient with her. When a face to face meeting was requested with the person dealing with will, they where suddenly "unavailable " when I arrived and a different person had to take the meeting, who knew very little. So a waste of time. The associate solicitors who was dealing with the case rang one of the executors of the will (who happened to be a long time family friend) to complain about me ! And tried the female I'm doing my best sob story. Same associate Solicitor from Oxley and Coward made a mistake with a tax issue which meant had to hold back a sizeable amount for 5 years, yet never received an apology, or an acknowledgement of their mistake.Oxley and Coward more than happy to send endless multiple page letters which in reality could have been summed up in one paragraph each time. Would not recommend Oxley and Coward
Probate: The utmost professional company. Attention to detail and advise delivered and confidence given during difficult time and considerable estate to deal with. About to move to conveyancing department and hope I get the same experience. I will update accordingly.
